Usernames!!!! How did you get yours?

Great topic idea!

My username comes from one of the Faraway Tree books (probably "The Enchanted Wood", but I can't be sure). When the kids go to the land of birthdays, Fanny gets a talking doll which she names Peronel.

I don't use my real name because it's usually taken and I don't like adding my birth year all the time. Plus, it's a little bit boring:)

Great topic!

'I've given a lot of thought on this thirteen hour drive...' is a lyric from one of my favorite songs and the song that one of my favorite artists was singing as he walked about 6 inches away from my friend and I, making that concert amazing considering my horrible luck. Haha.

My screenname is actually short for "tundra in the sno" which I have used online in the past. I decided shorter is best. Tundra in the sno (misspelled on purpose) was first used as my name on the back of a powderpuff footfall jersey when I played in a sorority tournament while doing my bachelor's degree. I am a big snow sports buff, having grown up in the Rocky Mountains, and I am norwegian too...and that's where the tundra is, in Norway. Hence I have become tundra. My real name is really easy to discover if you really wanted to know.

Ahhh, mine is one of simplicity. My best friend found that Vespertilio was Latin and it means vampire, which is what my entire life revolves around. I could have chosen Vrylolakas, which is Greek for the same, but I thought I wouldn't be able to remember the spelling. Besides, Vespertilio gets cool nicknames like Vesper. ^^

The 91, however, has less amazing origins. It's the year I was born. Go figure. o_O

Geez, googling on this, tons of people use my nick...
Here it is, from Ulysses:

Another slice of bread and butter: three, four: right. She didn’t like her plate full. Right. He turned from the tray, lifted the kettle off the hob and set it sideways on the fire. It sat there, dull and squat, its spout stuck out. Cup of tea soon. Good. Mouth dry. The cat walked stiffly round a leg of the table with tail on high.
—Mkgnao!
—O, there you are, Mr Bloom said, turning from the fire.
The cat mewed in answer and stalked again stiffly round a leg of the table, mewing. Just how she stalks over my writingtable. Prr. Scratch my head. Prr.
Mr Bloom watched curiously, kindly the lithe black form. Clean to see: the gloss of her sleek hide, the white button under the butt of her tail, the green flashing eyes. He bent down to her, his hands on his knees.
—Milk for the pussens, he said.
Mrkgnao! the cat cried.
They call them stupid. They understand what we say better than we understand them. She understands all she wants to. Vindictive too. Cruel. Her nature. Curious mice never squeal. Seem to like it. Wonder what I look like to her. Height of a tower? No, she can jump me.
—Afraid of the chickens she is, he said mockingly. Afraid of the chookchooks. I never saw such a stupid pussens as the pussens.
Cruel. Her nature. Curious mice never squeal. Seem to like it.
—Mrkrgnao! the cat said loudly.
She blinked up out of her avid shameclosing eyes, mewing plaintively and long, showing him her milkwhite teeth. He watched the dark eyeslits narrowing with greed till her eyes were green stones. Then he went to the dresser, took the jug Hanlon’s milkman had just filled for him, poured warmbubbled milk on a saucer and set it slowly on the floor.

*mrkgnao*

BUFFY: Want more singing! Want more beer!
XANDER: No, I've cut you off.
BUFFY: ...Did it hurt?
XANDER: Out you go.
BUFFY: Ow! Oh! Want beer! Like beer! Beer good!
XANDER: Beer BAD! Bad, bad beer. What the hell am I saying? Buffy, go home and go to bed.

mine is after the name anne shirley wanted to be called in anne of green gables (she loved to pretend she was lady cordelia fitzgerald).. my husband says it is uncanny how much we are alike, so i have always been drawn to this character and have used it as a username many times before

I don't really like my username. People often try to "pronounce it" plus it's way too long. It's a combo of my profession and the first letters of my dog's names. I'd really like to change it.

I'm a girl. From the prairies. When it became my name I was living in Toronto and really latched on to my "prairie girl" identity. Ive been moving away from it recently and going for Biscuit Munroe which is my "porn name" (first pet + First Street)

I do genealogy research, and Appolonia was the name of my 2nd great grandmother, who emigrated from Germany in 1853. I always loved her name.
