Forutnately, work is only 20 minutes away and I've begun to car pool with a fellow teacher who lives in the same town as me.

How 'bout you?
 
132 cents/litre here. Not sure how this converts to US/UK/elsewhere, but it's not as high as at some points last year. I usually walk to work as it's only 15 mins.
 
Last time I checked, it was $3.09. The gas in my hometown is pricier than it is in the city, though, so I don't know what it is further in.
 
It was $3.19 a few days ago, but we're at $3.09 now. I work from home, so that really cuts down on the cost, and my husband is only a few miles from work.

Far too much! It is somewhere in the $2.90-$3.05 range depending on what town you fill in and what station you go to. I'm starting to wish I had a bike and one of those things you tow the kid in. There isn't much within walking range, but biking would be a whole different story.
 
I take it you're all talking in gallons (except Peronel)?

Well here in the UK it's around £0.92 per litre, which works out around £4.14 per gallon, or $8+ per gallon.

So think yourselves lucky!
 
Seattle/Puget Sound area: Running about 3.50usd per gallon for regular unleaded.

The Seattle Times newspaper ran a gas price list from around the world. The lowest price was a measly 19 cents U.S. ---in Venezuela.

We do, believe me. Although in our defesne, the US doesn't have very good public transport, unless you're in the city. So you also have certain benefits that we don't have, such as not needing to own a car. To even get to the nearest public transport where I live, you have to travel another fifteen miles.
