There are so many more that I can't even think of right now....

Here are mine:

Nickelback,
Green Day,

When you see a list like this, you say to yourself:

And many many more..

Ramones , specially the sweet and ****-you, no big picture.
Bill Evans
Aimee Mann
REM (but they are whiners)
Jonathan Richman plus some funny punk asshole imitators
Grant Lee Buffalo
Counting Crows (only really desperate shit)
Chopin (preludes and short pieces, early shoe)
Lucinda Williams (middle, between blues imitation and self-immolation)
Pink Floyd (Wish You Were Here, The Wall, Dark Side of Moon)
Old and In the Way
Grateful Dead (pre 85)
Marvin Gaye
Bela Fleck
Doc Watson
Jerry Douglas
Neil Young (84 and back)
Jackson Brown (selected from old. pre 80)
Knopfler (all,whatever)
Hendrix (everything, but only played by him, no covers)

i get so lost in trying to formulate such lists. There is a music for every mood and time, and this is like picking favorite colors from the spectrum. Some are true and roll on smoothly and some are entirely problemmatic and make you realize there are imperfections in your walls.

Basically, if someone I like puts something on, I listen.

Novella, thanks for mentioning some of my favorites, and not making me feel quite so old. I'm right with you on REM, Floyd, Jonathan Richman, Old & In the Way, Hendrix, Counting Crows, and Bela. I'll also add:

Uncle Tupelo (Neil Young & Crazy Horse meet Woody Guthrie - there moments of genius)
Government Mule (Warren Haynes takes the power trio to new heights and strange new places)
The Detroit Cobras (Motown B-sides played with everything set at 11)
The Black Keys (The fuzz and crunch of the The White Stripes, but far more musical imho)
Van Morrison (so much more than Brown-Eyed Girl)
