Pencil

I used to be really into mechanical pencils, but now I prefer my wooden ones. They have such pretty designs on them too!

Pencils as chew toys? I yell loudly when my kids do this! If they'd keep them to themselves, it wouldn't be so bad, but when I have to use one to help someone with their math...GRRRR!!!

I'm so terrible about that-no wonder I catch a big cold/flu every year!.

I should go to mechanical-how many places have pencil sharpeners? I mean, really?

I never posted my preference. I pick mechanical pencils. I buy a bag like this (below) when I need some lead.

They look good and they are bic; what make pens.
How do they work?
How much are they?
What do you do with so many?
How do you sharpen them?
Can they rub out?
Has the top got a hole in it, in-case I swallow it?
Are they real?......They look like pens.
Can I buy just one?
Do they do joined up writing?
Are they HB, what ever that means?

:)

I prefer mechanical especially as sometimes i take notes in classes with a pencil. But i have my phases when i'll buy the regular pencils :p

My kids and dh like mechanical pencils but I'm challenged with them..the leads keep pushing up whenever I write with them.

I have the opposite difficulty with mechanical pencils - the leads keep falling out. Plus they break off if you bear down too hard. You can break the lead on a wooden pencil too, but you have to bear down REALLY hard.

You guys should see the "safety" pencils that mental health and correctional facilities give clients/inmates. They look like a wooden pencil, but bend very easily and you can hardly write with them. They also need "sharpened" quite frequently. The safety issue and need for sharpness is an interesting conflict. It's kind of like creating a cake that won't make you fat.

I prefer mechanical pencils. I think the professors get annoyed when people get up a lot. Pencil shapeners are noisy.

I prefer to use really smooth pens. But for tests, I use lead pencils with the 'click' thing on the side rather than the bottom...its just faster i think...i know, maybe just 2 seconds faster but hey, 2 seconds is 2 seconds!
