Ian Fleming Casino Royale 1968 Edition

Hi, I was recently given the above book which is the 10th edition of 1968. The dust wrapper is not price clipped and has a price of £1.60. I suspect that this is a wrapper from a newer book as this price is post decimalisation of UK currency in 1971, would I be right?

Maybe not. It would take some time for each edition of this book to sell out, so it might have been after 1971 for the 10th edition to be printed. The publisher may have only changed the price on the dust jacket.

You might try looking on abebooks.com or even google.com with the name, title, and publisher to see if you can find a picture of the dust jacket and original pricing information. That would give you a clearer picture of what the book is worth, if you want to know that.

I believe that the first British edition of this book was copyright 1953 by Jonathan Cape.

Hi, thanks for your reply. I have learned that Jonathan Cape were particularly eratic with pricing on their books with post 71 versions with the price in old money! so happy that the my book and DJ are a match.
