Solved - Are We Alone? by Paul Davies

Dear colleagues and Book buffs.
I am trying to identify one book but so far no luck. I would realy appreacite if someone could give me more clues.

The only clue that I have is a blurry picture of the back cover.
At the picture there is a visible logo - it seems from a book editor. It is an eye inside the Circle. It seems that the circle is of orange color.

I have uploaded the direct link for the cropped clip-picture of that back cover:

hostanje.net/~transfer/unknown%20book.jpg

Just paste the above address to your web browser.

Also it seems that the the back cover is composed of stars in space- at least it seems so.

So the book could be maybe about space, astronomy, astrobiology, SETI, UFO's or maybe some paranormal issues.

Please any clue would be really appreaciated.

At least - if someone has ever seen that EYE-CIRCLE logo that would at least enable me to locate the book editor.

Please help.

Giuliano

This is quite possibly the oddest request I have seen here to date.

Dear Sparkchaser. Tnx for your reply.
I wish I could have more info, but that is the best I have.

But at least there is a hope that some book buff will recognize editor's logo that will at least enable me to identify the name of the editor-company.

The info is of great value to me. The cover of the book is cropped from one picture that is connected with important issue.

Best regards.

It's probably a book about lasik. LOL

I don't recognize the book or the logo. Perhaps you could try to enlarge the image so that you can read the description and/or barcode?

You know, just because there are stars on the back doesn't mean that it is about the topics you suggested. Hell, it might be a novel.

This looks like some fun detective work but I'm going to need a little more to go on aside from a blurry photo of 1/3 of the back cover of a book.

I say just take the book from under the blanket and turn it over. You'll probably find the title right on the front.

Don't bring logic into this Missy!

GiulianoM, despite what you might have seen on Bladerunner or CSI, once it's out focus, you can't get it back into focus.

Litany, you make me chuckle at least once a day. Please don't ever stop posting! This place wouldn't be the same without your sense of humor.

I have to disappear for long stretches of time now and then. It's traditional. My fans would be disappointed otherwise.

Is there anything else you can add that might help?

Dear Spark.
Unfortunately that is all I have but I guess I could clear up some points.

1. - It is not my picture. If the picture was mine, there would probably be no need for this thread.

2. - The resolution is the best possible. It is clipped from hi-res copy but the book represents only small section of the picture so that is the reason why it is blurry. It is the best that is.

You are right the book could be novel also - that is one possibility too. There are some other indications that is not novel but I in this phase I don't want to make any suggestions.

We are trying to find the leads from another source and maybe it will be resolved. I will let you know.

I am asking those users that can't contribute with any relevant data to avoid useless comments because of amplification of the data noise. Thanks in advance. If I find out the name of the book from another source I will let you know of course.

Best regards

I think he means you Litany.

He's calling me data noise? How rude. I shan't pass on the fruits of my further investigation then.
