Hello, I'm a youth looking for recommendations on books, I've composed a list of all the books I've read as of yet, and while I'd like a few recommendations from books similar to those in the list, I'd really prefer books that you personally feel are some of the greatest, and that everyone should read.

The Long Walk by Stephen King
The Jaunt by Stephen King
The Boogeyman by Stephen King
The Man Who Loved Flowers by Stephen King
The Lawnmower Man by Stephen King
The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald
The Gun Seller by Hugh Laurie
Franny and Zooey by J.D. Salinger
The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger
The Htichhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams
Shantaram by Gregory David Roberts
The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkein
The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold
On Writing by Stephen King
The Pigman by Paul Zindel
Homecoming by Cynthia Voight
Lord of the Flies by William Golding
Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury
Animal Farm by George Orwell
All My Friends Are Going to Be Strangers by Larry McMurtry

Beautiful Losers by Leonard Cohen
Kitchen Confidential by Anthony Bourdain
Way of the Peaceful Warrior by Dan Millman
Brave New World by Aldous Huxley

Here's five very varied novels from me:

  • Revolutionary Road, Richard Yates
  • if on a winter's night a traveler, Italo Calvino
  • The Remains Of The Day, Kazuo Ishiguro
  • A Prayer For Owen Meany, John Irving
  • The Sailor Who Fell From Grace With The Sea, Yukio Mishima

First, if read and enjoyed Kitchen Confidential then be sure to read his novel Bone in the Throat. Also read Cook's Tour.

American Gods by Neil Gaiman
Fight Club by Palahniuk
Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance by Robert Pirsig
On the Road by Jack Kerouac
All Quiet on the Western Front by Erich Remarque
Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card

if you enjoyed Good Omens i would recommend reading more of Neil Gaimens work. hes a brilliant authur. try Neverwhere or Stardust, they are both quite so won;t take to long to read. also his short stories are brilliant espically in SMoke and Mirrors.

also you might like to try some of douglas couplands work, possibly Hey Nostrodamus! brilliant but harrowing story and one of his best. :)

I loved Smoke and Mirrors but I one of the stories has been nagging me about what it was really going on.
