Are you a re-reader?

I never used to reread books, but as age catches up with me (short-term memory, what's that?) I'm finding a lot of pleasure in it. The first book I reread was The Stand -- it was so satisfying that I began to see lots of advantages. The best one is that when I can no longer afford to support amazon, I'll have a whole library of "new" books at my fingertips :)

Rarely, rarely, rarely...

Rarely do I re-read anything fiction. For non-fiction, I usually remember most of the important stuff, and I use google's book search to find the page numbers when I need to recall facts.

The one exception to this would be The Catcher in the Rye. I think I've read it about seven or eight times now. I don't know what it is, I just love that book!

I've finally taken the time to start rereading something and find that I enjoy it just as much now as the previous times. This particular book I have read multiple times.

Live a few years and then reread some of the books you liked (or maybe only respected) when you were younger. I have recently been rereading for several book groups I belong to:

The Grapes of Wrath
Out of Africa
Bleak House

They do not disappoint, in fact they bring a new experience - or maybe I'm now able to bring different experiences to the books. For example, the first time I read The Grapes of Wrath I was disgusted with the crudity of the migrants. Now I mostly feel their humanity.

I have re-read books that I initially read when I was young. for example, I read All Quiet on the Western Front when I was in junior high and hated it. then, as I continued to grow and expand my reading, I realized the book was very powerful and I just finished re-reading it.

i often re-read books,or listen to audio

First is the question of choice,on is not allways in place with a large choice of books, and i rather re-read a good book than discovering a bad one.when travaling in India i was often readingf again the same books, when i first arrive in Morocco, the coice was so bad that i read all the book i had with me,about 80,by order of preference.
one allways learn something new,bad or good-it's funny sometime, interresting often.

As for audio book, while in france,i had only about30 of then ,my favortie listen about 10 times(crusade through the arabian eyes, leo the african, eugenie grandet,...)
when one love books, one can't get to picky, just read what's there!

The only book I've ever read more than once is one called 'Mostly Magic" as a child. I never re-read now. For this reason I never buy books, only lend from the library. I can't understand wanting to own a book that will never be opened again and simply gather dust in the shelf. Tho' I know I'm in the minority here. I never see a movie more than once either.

I almost always re-read my books. It's my way of making them last longer.

Errr sometimes I re-read them three or more times. >>

I have so many books to read that I can't fathom, at this point, re-reading a book. I already feel that there's no enough time to get to all the books I want to read. I have re-read books before though. In fact, I used to do it quite a bit. Some of my favorite books, such as Helter Skelter, I've read at least ten times.

im always re reading, even if i have a pile of books waiting to be read i will sometimes just be in the mood for a comfertable read
