American Girl series...

... am I the only one who loved these? I remember the days when it was just Felicity, Kirsten, Samantha and Molly, and Addy was the "newest" one - now I have no idea how many there are.

Any takers?

Yes, I also loved these books as a young girl. I read the Kirsten books and even bought myself the doll when I was stuck at home with mono. I read these books when they first started and it was just Kirsten, Samantha and Molly.

American Girl Series

I enjoyed reading the American Girl series as a little girl. I still enjoy reading the books now, and I have the doll Addy that I keep for decoration. But I enjoy reading the stories even now as a young adult.:)

The relatively non-fiction books about what life was like in the eras that the girls lived in were also an interesting part of the series for me.

Not long after I started reading them, they added Josephina. Now they also have some girl from the 1920's whose name I can't remember. But I always read the Kirsten books, because she was a Swedish immigrant. My family is Swedish/Norwegian, and her last name (Larson) is the name of a family closely related to us. So I was convinced as a child that I was related to Kirsten. I read all of the books that were out at the time, but Kirsten was the only doll I bought.

I read them. I think Addy came along right after I stopped reading. My favorites were Samantha and Molly. I loved the Christmas stories. I always wanted one of those dumb dolls but they were so expensive.

I loved those books. Addy was the new girl when I stopped reading them. Felicity was my favorite, though Kirsten and Samantha were close seconds. I had the Felicity doll, but I remember never doing anything with her. I don't know what happened to her now.

I remember these, my best friend when I was a kid was obsessed with these and had 3 or 4 of the dolls.

I remember the books too, but don't think I really read them. Which one was the girl with glasses? I think I read one of her books (I recall a picture of her and her friends dressed as hula girls and getting sprayed by a hose), and one of Samantha's books too.

Samantha had been my favorite.

The girl with the glasses was Molly (the WWII era girl).

Molly happened to be my favorite. Actually her books were the only ones I could really comfortably get through. Felicity was okay I guess.

Geez I remember begging for an American Girl doll and now she's just sitting in my closet collecting dust.
