I have heard a lot of good things about this book, I wanted to get a final suggestion in regarding if I should read this book or not.

Some of my favorite books of all time

To Kill a Mockingbird
Catcher in the Rye
The Historian
Harry Potter Series
Memoirs of a Geisha
Angela's Ashes
 
Yes. Read it. It is his best work.

If you read it and are NOT instilled with a sense of wanderlust then I'll buy it from you. :)

I read this and was NOT instilled with a sense of wanderlust. I struggled to get through it, sometime last year. I don't even remember anything about it, so it was, to me, a waste of time. But I too, had heard "good things" of this book prior to picking it up.
 
The book alone is not enough. I've had to do some background research on the whole group of beats; burroughs, cassady, ginsberg et al

And man I love it all. So for the kicks. I've been missing this for nearly a whole quarter of a century and man I want to go on the road!

On The Road is nothing like any of your favorite books listed. Judging you by your favorite books I dont think you'd like On The Road. But give it a try and maybe your favorites will change.
