Libraries vs book stores

Knowing you can pick it up at breakfast, lunch or lavatory time
This is why I can't bring myself to borrow library books. I'm a bit of a mysophobic and the thought of where those books may have been and the germs that they may contain horrifies me.

You never buy segond-hand book?
No. I bought one once because the book was out of print and it was the only way I could acquire it, but I couldn't bring myself to touch the thing, so I found it rather useless. You should see me in an airport or casino. I am the queen of anti-bacterial products.

I buy pretty much all my books in charity shops. I like to own what I've read so only use the library for a travel book if I'm going somewhere or reference books. They are great for kids books though, especially picture books for younger kids.

Libraries are good for findig info and doing research...but I would much prefer to do that online...if I just want to read a book, I would want to buy it and own it....just my opinion...:p

When I worked in the library I borrowed lot of books from the library where I was working - it can say that I had own small library then at home:)
Then I decided to join to bookclubs (do you say it so) where you can order books via mail and they will send you month's book if you don't decide to cancel it. Here in Finland those kind of bookclubs was then (and still is) quite many for this kind of country, and of course "I had to" join to everyone:)
But when I started to work at the bookshop, I decided to part with all bookclubs as I can buy almost all books want I want via my work. And if I can't buy the book what I want via my work, I try to order it via netbookshops, no matter is it new or used (first I try to buy it as new but if it's not possible, then I try to get as used). Some books I want to have myself as I read them many times or I just collect those kind of books/author's books. So more I use bookshop (and little bit netbookshop) but not forget the library as it's really good place to borrow books want I don't want to have myself or I can't buy it anywhere.
