hi all,
i'm from andhra pradesh, india specifically south india.
but for 2 years i'm staying in kolkata, north india to finish my post graduation.
actually i'm following the threads in this forum to pick my next reads and to post my opinions on the books i read.

in india, english literature is widely read and even jeffrey archer toured india for his latest book release.

Not only is English literature widely read in India, but you have many excellent writers (some born in India, some emigrants) who write in English: Rushdie, Narayan, Naipaul, Lahiri, Mistry.

you are right, silverseason. some of them got prestigious prizes for their contribution to English literature.
 
I was born in Denmark, but I now live in South Carolina. I have alot of family that still live in Demark. But I LOVE the South!!!
