My least favorite read to date is She's Come Undone by Wally Lamb (I think.)
The writing was fine it was just the character that was beyond pathetic. I'm not the most patient person in the world when it comes to pity-party-people and the main character was most definitely their queen. I kept wishing her suicide attempts would succeed.
Honestly, I don't know how the writer managed to live with this woman in his head for however long it took to write the novel without throwing himself out a window.

I hated The Catcher in the Rye. Maybe there's something wrong with me. Also, I couldn't stand Siddhartha by Hesse. Oh...and Insomnia by Stephen King.

I agree with this. I couldn't even make it through that book. I don't know what I hated more: Heart of Darkness or Crime and Punishment. Maybe it was the fact that I was forced to read them for school... but they made me want to tear my hair out!Joseph Conrad's Heart of Darkness bored me to tears.
I liked the Twilight series at first too, but after reading the last one I felt as if I wasted my time. Ugh.

Ahh, yes, well... I only hated it because I just couldn't relate to anything in the book. I couldn't connect with any of the characters and I thought that they swore too much, and the book failed to hold my interest.
However, many people seem to like the book a lot. I recommend reading the first 5 pages or so and see if you're interested. Also, ask your friend what they really liked about the book and why they recommend it. Don't worry about not liking a book that everyone else seems to like - there's nothing wrong with you if you don't. It depends on your literary taste, really.
In general, I dislike romance novels. I read a couple and never read them again.
Because I have romances myself, I am much better writer than all of them. (If no one agree, at least I think so.
I can write more steamier scheme than the authors and more tragic stories.
Hmm... that gets me thinking.

so im not sure if i hated it. or just found it disappointing. BUT. clive barkers the forbidden, the book candy man was made after.. I KNEW it wouldnt be the same but candyman is a horror i thought forbidden would be.it clearly wasnt it was a suspense and hand nothing to do with that epic ness of speaking into a mirror i remember as a little kid.

Completely agree. Had to read it at uni, never again.

I hated Clarissa by Samuel Richardson. I read it for my degree and it was not only one of the most expensive novels I've bought but also one of the most tedious and boring.

Heart of Darkness, definitely, it bored me and I had to read it several times for some exams.
I had to read that twice in college. First time, I HATED it. Thought it was the wrost book ever.
Two years later, when I reread it, I found myself enjoying it a little more. It will never be my favorite book, but it wasn't as bad as I initially thought it to be either.

Not a bad read but the over analyzation of everything kind of got boring.

Oil by Upton Sinclair. I saw the movie...There Will Be Blood, and my boss offered me the book to read. Not only were they completely different stories, but I just could not get into the book. It took me ages to read.
I just quit "The Black Angel" by John Connolly. I just couldn't get into it. It had enough violence and gore that it should have at least kept your interest in a train wreck/car accident sort of a way but it just didn't.
How can a book about dark angels and occult subject matter manage to still be boring? Maybe it was "user error" and I just wasn't in the mood for this sort of a story.

My disgust and loathing for The Red Badge of Courage by Steven Crane burns as a dangerously intense wildfire whose only desire is to mercilessly consume anything pure and good that crosses its path...
I also didn't like All Over but the Shoutin' by an author I can't remember. He was just a whinner...
