I re-read books sometimes. I've read Written On The Body by Jeanette Winterson a few times and every time I find new things. I also like to reapproach books I have read a few years ago because as I experience the world more, stories tend to change...

When words and images are beautiful I re-read, like James Baldwin's "Sonny's Blues".
 
If I never re-read books then it would be a sad world of missing out on titles that have become among my favorites. Things like The Hobbit and The Phantom of the Opera would have never been added to my list of favorites without a second reading.
 
I love to reread books, it's like visiting an old friend I haven't seen in a long time, perspectives change, new facets are discovered and enjoyed. It's a good thing.

We seem to be holding around 15% of the reading population if my poll has been perfectly unbiased. I'd like to see it drop under 10% though as that would make me feel like part of a really exclusive club.
 
I have reread an entire but only once and am in the process of doing so the second time. Both times were to refresh my memory so I could participate in a book discussion. There are just too many books still unread for me to do this on a regular basis.
 
I sometimes go back to my old favourites - especially to books I once read in my teenage or younger years (I was a mature reader for my age) as I find I see them in a different light now.
 
Only because I remember I liked it. Then forgotten about it. Reread it.
Several. I try rereading books I remember, but then it's like watching a rerun.
 
Why stay with the same book when there are so many out there to play around with!! There are simply too many unread books in the universe for me to lavish my attention on the same one again (and/or again). Just chalk it up on the bedboard and caress the next spine with the palm of your hand.
 
I am a chronic re-reader! It's terrible. I've read my favorite book, Lonesome Dove, no less than 17 times. Not kidding. I agree with Pontalba...it's like finding an old friend and catching up.
 
I re-read books...i like to get re-acquainted with the characters...its just like visiting old friends for me...most of the time i go through phases, like i become obsessed with a character and i have to go and read a book with said character in it, or else while i am reading another book my mind always wanders to the book i want to re-read...i dont know, i'm weird ^_^
 
I don't typically re-read, but there is one book that I re-read almost annually since I bought it: A Clockwork Orange. I just love that book. I first read it when I was 13 and it was increadably ground breaking for me because it was the first truely controversial books I'd ever read. I keep loaning it out to people and every time I get it back I re-read it.
 
I re-read books that i really enjoy. I don't seem to do it a lot, and i let a few years pass before reading it again. I find it interesting because even though i know the basic story i never remember all the details and can't put it down just as much as the first time i read it.
 
I re-read Catch 22 as soon as I'd finished it - partly because I thought I'd missed a lot in the first go, and partly because I loved it...I'd be quite happy to read it again if I didn't have a pile of books on my to-read list!
 
I re-read constantly just because I end up running out of books! Plus, it's nice to go back to old favorites.
