Bedtime Reading

Who do you read before going to bed?

I read short stories. Right now they're the fantastic short stories of Bernad Malmud. You?

I read whatever book I'm currently reading, but I don't get to do that a lot anymore unless I schedule myself to go to bed before my partner, and that IS rare! Miss reading in bed actually!

I usually fall asleep after two to three pages.
However, after hubby is fixed in the morning I like to sneak in some reading time in bed before I pick up my own work. Sometimes it's warm enough and I take a nap for an hour or so. I love flexible working hours but I don't particulary prefer to read in bed although I do it every day. :-D

I usually read the novel that I am reading at that time or got a script from work in my hands.

The book I'm currently reading. Or textbooks if I need to study for a test. Usually it's the textbooks that make me fall asleep quicker ;).

Agreed. I'll read whatever I'm reading for school. Or comic books since most are pretty short (especially if you take it issue by issue).

Any one of the two or three books that I am reading at the time. There is a special case with horror books though. I never read those during the day time. There is just something almost sacrilegious about reading a book like The Shining at noon during my lunch break. So if I happen to be reading a scary book I will reserve that for my bed time reading.

Well i read just anything before bed now, BUT i have said it before when i was young i always read More Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark
its awesomee

Love reading in bed, especially if a novel that doesn't require much concentration. If it is a weekend, I sometimes continue my reading in the morning... Its lovely to wake up in a weekend and stay in bed reading. It has been a while and I miss it!

Depends on the mod that I'm in. I usually read an hour or two before I go to bed, so if I do that, then I run with Time or Newsweek. Sometimes I'll pick up an old favorite and re-read chapters that I enjoy. Great thread!

Oh the luxury of reading in bed!! I don't get to do that much anymore. My husband has to get up for work at about 4 AM so he goes to bed ahead of my most nights. He can't sleep if I have the light on. I have to make due with an easy chair and a lamp in the living room. Occassionally I do fall asleep and eventually one of the kids comes out and pokes me with a stick. :)

I can only ever read one book at a time. Only one...ever.

I think this is probably some sort of obsessive/compulsive disorder. One day I will have to work up the courage to try two at a time and see what happens. Does the sun get covered with ashcloth? Do locusts swarm?

Before going to bed, I listen to music instead.

I make time for reading during the day.

I love to read in bed. I have a stack of favorites by my bed to get me to sleep. Right now I'm rotating between Wicked, Lonesome Dove, and Pride and Prejudice. I can read at work sometimes, so I save my newer books for that, and stick to the favorites at nighttime.

Whatever I'm currently reading is what I read in bed. There have only been a handful of nights in the past year where I did not read at all once I got in bed--it is one of my nightly rituals that I cannot skip over. A lot of times I try to get in bed early so I'll have plenty of time to read.
