what was unaccustomed earth like????

It was 8 stories, mostly completely independent but the last 2 or 3 tied together. Don't know if you've read other things by Lahiri, but they're very similar -- stories of 2nd or 3rd generation American immigrant families with Bengali roots (India). Stories about complex relationships between traditional/ older vs. progressive/ younger family members. Beautifully written, though I think some people say that the themes get old by the end.

I have read only one book in March:
Carl Sagan – The Varieties of Scientific Experience: A Personal View of the Search for God :star5:
I absolutely loved the book.

Dead Center, Shiya Ribowsky
The Girl with the Pearl Earring, Tracy Chevalier
A Confederacy of Dunces, John Kennedy Toole
The Lady and the Unicorn, Tracy Chevalier
How Fiction Works, James Wood (didn't finish)
A Thousand Splendid Suns, Khaled Houssieni
Henry and June, Anais Nin
The Invention of Morel, Adolfo Bioy Casares
Falling Angels, Tracy Chevalier
