Best Place to Buy Used Books!??!

Wondering if anyone has any suggestions for the best place/cheapest place to buy used books. I've looked at a couple but with the shipping prices on some of them (need it to Canada) it doesn't work out to be any cheaper then buying them new?!

With Ebay, you can filter your search by geographic region or country, or distance. At Abebooks, you can scroll through the listings for your books and see if there are Canadian sellers for your title. Half.com also tells you where a sellar is from and tells you what they charge to ship, usually a flat rate per transaction. You might check with Cheapbooks.com and see what you can find there too; they have a number of vendors they promote, and not all are in the US.

I would think that Amazon.com/ca would be the best place.

I'm going to be in both Chicago and Minneapolis with in the next ten days, can anyone recommend a used book store in either city? Or maybe in places along the way as we are driving from Toronto.

Salvation Army or Goodwill. Does Canada have those? Our local county libraries will be having a booksale this Saturday.

I've been using Alibris for quite a while now,who often offer discounts once you sign up. Plus,of course charity shops.

I said Amazon before and I'll keep that answer. But also want to add your local thrift store. At times you find good books if lady luck is on your side.
