South Park

I think the show's great (good movie too). The later seasons are better than the earlier ones; rare for that to happen. So far I'm really enjoying this season . . .

I love the show, although I haven't caught much of the past two seasons, so thanks for the link! I enjoy the show because it is irreverent and it picks on EVERYONE. It is easy to laugh when they make fun of groups you disagree with. The true test is if you can laugh at yourself when they make fun of a group to which you belong.

I love South Park, even if I think they're a bit stuck in a situation where they have to keep trying to outdo themselves - and IMO, after "Scott Tenorman Must Die" they'd pretty much peaked in terms of just how offensive and clever it's possible to be on TV. That episode is just perfection. They tend to get a bit preachy at times, too. But they do land the occasional bull's eye episode - the one about Britney a while back, for instance.

Don't tell me I'm the only one who may as well be listening to a crowd of Japanese,Chinese and Italian teenagers all jabbering away at the same time.

It's SO difficult to interpret. Surely they aren't speaking our good Queen's English?

That's why I prefer the great 'Family Guy.' Also American, but well pronounced.

For me, part of that was the really specialized references. For example, the first time I saw the TrapperKeeper episode, I was like..trapperkeeper?? That, I think, is part of the "charm" of the show, that it's not one hundred percent obvious WTH they're talking about at all times. They create their own little microcosmic pop cultures; then when you figure it out, the satisfaction is - satisfying.

I've watched some episodes of it on the iternet before, I thought it was very funny.

However, just as I read this thread tonight, I started watching season 12 in the link provided by the OP. The first episode was making fun of HIV/AIDS and the second was making fun of Britney. I didn't make it all the way through the second episode. It was trying hard to be offensive, and it was more offensive than funny. It wasn't a pleasure to watch, I shut it off.

Hugh, there are alot of things offensive.I think you have to remove yourself from it and just enjoy it as is.

Have a good laugh on my account:)
Canada

eh?

Been a fan since day 1. Me and my room mates all got together to watch the first episode because Comedy Central had been running ads for so long that we had to see what it was going to be like. We all almost died laughing that night. It was so different and much more vulgar than any cartoon show up to that point.

The animation quality got a lot better of course after the first few episodes. I still remember the Terrence and Phillip April Fools episode that had people in an uproar. I admit, I was pissed that night too.

The movie is absolute gold. I kind of lost touch with the show after the 6th or 7th season, but I always love watching it.

Kick the baby.

I find the website South Park Studios to be one of the best for watching South Park episodes online.

As far as the show goes, I avoided it as long as possible for some reason. I ended up having a marathon and going through all the seasons this past few months. Love it! I agree that it can be preachy, but the preachiness can add to the hilarity at times.
