Does anyone like V.C. Andrews? My favorite series of hers is the Hudson series. So tell me what you think of her. :)

I have 32 books too many of hers. I should have stoped after Flowers in the Attic series but nooo, I bought another 25.:whistling:(I was young) After the stories just started becoming the same story line ,different names. I wanted to give them away, but I paid so much money on them I feel guilty.I was even more upset when I found out she had passed away and her family was continuing the money making business.:)

Which ones do you have? I will make a list and let you know which ones I have.

I never read a book by Andrews.
The Flowers in the Attic series is about these children that grew up there and had that incest thing going on or am I wrong ?

I read the Flowers in The Attic Series. The series was okay but none of the follow up books matched the first story. The original book was intersting and different.

I'm not sure how many of those books were actually written by a ghost writer.

Sleepy-there is an incestuous relationship between the brother and sister and they discover their parents had an incestuous relationship as well but the parents did not seem to know they were brother and sister.

They had the same father but different mothers. The father raped his daughter's mother.

The Dollanganger series
Andrews's first series of novels focuses on the lives of the Dollanganger family and was published between 1979 and 1986.

The first two novels, "Flowers in the Attic" and "Petals on the Wind", focus on the Dollanganger children: Chris, Cathy, Cory, and Carrie. The Dollangangers are initially imprisoned in an attic by their mother and grandmother, and "Flowers in the Attic" tells of their incarceration and subsequent escape. "Petals on the Wind" picks up the story directly after their escape from the attic. "If There Be Thorns" and "Seeds of Yesterday" continue to tell the story of the siblings, but the focus shifts to Cathy's children, Jory and Bart. "Garden of Shadows" is a prequel which tells the story of the grandparents, Olivia and Malcolm Foxworth.

Flowers in the Attic (1977)
Petals on the Wind (1980)
If There Be Thorns (1981)
Seeds of Yesterday (1984)
Garden of Shadows (1986) (started by Andrews, finished by Andrew Neiderman)

Stand alone works
Gods of Green Mountain (1972), a science fiction novel, currently only available in e-book format.
My Sweet Audrina (1982)

The Casteel series
The Casteel series was the second series of novels written by Andrews. The five books were published between 1985 and 1990. Two books were published before Andrews' death and three after.

The series traces the trials of a troubled West Virginia family, primarily from the viewpoint of Heaven, a young girl whose 14-year-old mother died during childbirth, and deals with her love/hate relationship with her father, who sells her and her half-siblings for money. The focus then shifts to Heaven's daughter Annie, named for her grandmother, and then to Leigh, Heaven's mother. It is the last series known to be started by Andrews herself.

Heaven (1985)
Dark Angel (1986)
Fallen Hearts (1988) ("inspired" by Andrews, finished by Neiderman

So after this ,the rest are the ghost writer like Stewart said.

I think my mom gave me Flowers in the Attic when I was 13 or 14, and I have since read that entire series, as well as a smaller series she wrote about Runaways, one of which was named Brooke, thus the reason my mom bought that one for me too. I found that I've kind of grown out of her writing (yet I still read Harry Potter, weird), but my younger sister (15 going on 25) loves to read her stuff.

Oh, VC Andrews ... How my mother made me read you... I read one. I can't remember the title (something about pearls or a gemstone or something?), but it was about a girl living in Louisianna byou and she found out she had a twin in New Orleans so she goes to live with her just to end up meeting a boy, getting knocked up, and coming back home to marry her cousin... yeah.

I think I read that one too! Though, I can't remember the name either, but the storyline definitely sounds familiar.

Ruby.:)

So I'm reading the Landry series by V.C Andrews. I think I forgotten how much this writer was good at making characters that one could hate so much. Right now I'm only a few chapters into All That Glitters so I'm not having to see the characters I want to slap at the moment.

Flowers in the Attic

I have read the Dollanganger series too. I read it when I was 10, and at that time I thought it was a pretty disturbing story. I haven't had the chance to read another VC Andrews book lately.
