i just came from seeing this at 12:00 and damn was the theatre packed. i guess the holiday weekend had to do something with it. anyways, it was pretty much what i expected.... just an average flick. the cgi was amazing though, and worth paying five bucks to check out.

I have a friend at work who's been dying to see it. She loves distaster movies. I'll be sure to pass along your critique. :)

Waitin' to rent this one....but hey, I'm actually planning on renting a movie. Martin would be proud...too bad he's not around ;)

Were I to see an Empire State Building collapsing for a ten thousandth time, I would gone mad...Besides, I'm not going to admire brave, wise and beautiful Americans saving the poor, helpless world, which is represented by some closely undefinied crowds being massacred or jumping happily when the threat is over.

Everybody loves writers of screenplays of American catastrophic films.

On the other hand, plastic Godzilla has a special pleasure in devastating Tokyo.

Have you noticed the scene where the water is forcing everyone down a street in manhattan, that's the exact same scene as in godzilla except they substituted the water for godzilla sooo unorigional.

And the part in Indepenence day where the wall of fire moves though the city with people screaming is replaced by a vast tidal wave.

I really HATE those directors and all their movies. Didn't they already do this story in ID4????

*Hug*

There ya go :)

I'm impressed that you managed to completely catch back up....I was away for a weekend and gave up on trying to read all the new posts (it was a bit overwhelming).

Yes, but the thing is .. I post the most  . So if I'm not around posting like a maniac who posts a lot, which I wasn't, then the amount of new messages won't be that bad.

But still, took me a (fun) couple of hours.

Cheers, Martin
