I Almost Died Last Night

Bellow is now on my TBR list (never read him). Should I dash his books from the list? Please tell me what you mean. I'm curious now.

Pretentious and boring. Reading his works will cause your body's organs and various functions to want to misfire. What happened to you sounds like an acute case of Bellowreadingitis. Do NOT read him, I can't be held responsible for anything and possibly everything that will go wrong should you dare to proceed to even try to turn a page in his book.

I have certainly thought that in the past, finding things like The Adventures Of Augie March and The Actual to be impenetrable from the off, but on employing a new tactic, which was to head right back to the start, to his rookie works, I found I really enjoyed Dangling Man, and the influence of Kafka was quite visible. I'm of the opinion that it's not Bellow's fault we can find him hard to read, it's ours. That so many respected writers respect his work, it could never be his problem. I live in the hope that, in the same way we grow out of writers, we grow into others.

Glad to hear you're OK, it sounds as though you had a scary evening.

Herzog is one of my favorite books; arranging my affairs now....

One hell of a cat you have there Aqua!

I had a friend who passed out while driving and had a pretty bad car accident. He had some tests done and found he had diabetes, as did his father. Since you are monitoring your sugar levels I can only assume you do as well. Have you ever experience light headiness or passed out prior to this?

Glad you made it through last night, had to be a pretty bad scare for you and your family...

Aqua, my cousin had a blackout once that caused him to fall down the stairs and now the doctors fear he may be epileptic. You should really get yourself checked out, it may be a serious thing you have.

Hey Aqua, hope that you are feeling better now.

Have had any blood tests done just to be on the safe side?

I work in pathology so that is probably influencing my post!

Man, you really should get your blod and presure supervised, last month a family friend (31 y/old ) died of diabetic shock, and no one had idea he was diabetic.
also about 4 years ago we came home and found my dad pretty much in the state you described, we were lucky to find him alive, he ended with five heart bypasses :(

That's frightening, AquaBlue. I'm not familiar with your medical history, are you diabetic and/or has this ever happened to you before? I'm glad you are alive!
