Medieval adventure?

Hi all,
I'm attempting to figure out myself how to describe what I want to read now. Some historical adventure novels along the lines of Dumas, Scott, etc...set in the middle ages...basically, right now I'm very into Chaucer, Malory's Morte d'Arthur, and the film A Knight's Tale, and I'd like some interesting novels full of adventure and history (and a little romance). Suggestions?

Great suggestions from BG
In a lighter note, have you read Guy Gavriel Kay ?
Exactly what you are looking for, chevalery, great heroic charactere, and a bit of romance but not stupid, superb women charactere.
The lion of Al Rassan is unforgetable.

thanks, i'll check those out! Guy Gavriel Kay sounds wonderful, although the descriptions of some of his books make it seem like an adult version of Narnia (college students going to a different world and discovering themselves). But, I'm willing to give it a chance...

Another good book is Timeline by Michael Crichton. It mostly set in the middle ages and has plenty of history in it, as well as action, romance, science, and time-travel.

I like Ellis Peters novels about monk in middle ages who solves crimes. Not strictly adventure novels but still exciting and informative. I also love the series about Genghis Khan by Connor Igguldsen, but not sure how to spell author's name.
