Recommendation need on mystery authors

Recommendation needed for Agatha Christie like author but not "Golden Age of Mystery" authors.

What I mean is mystery author that will give reader FAIR clues, so that reader can try to guess and then give the whodunit at the end(like Agatha Christie's Maples/Poirot story) BUT wrtie by modern authors that write the story in the modern setting, not the 20's/30's era backdrop.

Have you read any Mary Higgins Clark? If you like Agatha Christie you'll probably like her too. :)

The Lincoln Rhyme novels are like that. Although the majority of the series suck,I'd highly recommend The Coffin Dancer. Or you can go with The Dresden Files series, which deals with a wizard who is an investigator of paranormal cases in modern day Chicago.

Erle Stanley Gardner. He is not a very new writer but his setting are contemporary. Also, if you want to read an older writer, what about G.K. Chesterton. And John Grisham writes legal thriller which is like mystery but without the clues and all.
