Reading as a way to understand how women think

Hello Book and reader forum,

I am looking for a romance book that will help me understand the thought process of a woman in her 20's in regards to what she is thinking and what she is looking for in an ideal mate. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Yes. Don't.

The romance novels won't tell you anything. You're better off looking some modern anthropology textbooks or studies.

You can read this book Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus or Women's Bottom Line. You can find them on Amazon.

I think the only one you can learn to understand a bit better by reading a book is the author himself/herself and additionaly maybe the time in which he/she lived.

THE woman does not exist, there are many of us and we are all different. :)

Why not reading Simone de Beauvoir or Anais Nin?

Good point.

OP, I suggest you ask the woman you are curious about to write a story about her ideal mate.

Oh Litany I've missed you! You are too funny!

Honestly though Dustmetro... as a woman in her 20s, let me tell you that reading a romance to get an idea of how a woman like me thinks is a waste of time because I've never read one that I can identify with. The best way to get to know what a woman's thinking is to talk to her. Be confident, be kind and be yourself. That's what women want.

I completely agree. Romances for the most part are over sexualized, and under personalized. A one on one conversation never fails to be under valued.

Perhaps you're a lesbian?

Well shoot. I guess waiting for the Laird to ride across the moors from his castle keep on a black charger to rescue me from the banality of bookkeeping and house drugery is not time well spent.

:lol::lol:Good luck!:D

sounds like you're in need of a dating site. A romance book will only have one author's take on how a woman thinks... and some are from men :) so take that with a grain of salt.

Best bet would be to get a few of your female friends to answer some questions. Again, you'll get individual responses but a much wider pool. Research, my friend, therein lies your answers.
