I've only ever re-read one book and that was Watership Down by Richard Adams, and I was 11/12 at the time. I think I've read it four times, but not for 25 yrs+ now! If you had to choose 5 books to re-read what would they be?

Watership Down by Richard Adams
Replay by Ken Grimwood
All Quiet On The Western Front by Erich Maria Remarque
Sophie's Choice by William Styron
Jude The Obscure by Thomas Hardy

Hard question.

I would probably also reread All Quiet On The Western Front because it is still the best "war is bad" book I have ever read.

The rest would probably be non-fiction titles.

Good question!
Until this year, I've been re-reading Stephen King's It every year since 2004.
I've also re-read his DTIII: Wastelands as well.
I would like to re-read:
  1. Anne Rice's Sleeping Beauty trilogy (I've gone back and skimmed through it and have also listened to it on audio on road trips, but I'd like to thoroughly re-read it.)
  2. King's The Stand
  3. Levin's Rosemary's Baby
I'll have to think a little bit on two others.

Jostein Gaarder - Sophie's World; I've always loved reading that book.
James Joyce - Ulysses; there's too many layers in it for me to fully understand after one read.

I have only re-read a few books. They would be:

It - Stephen King
The Stand - Stephen King
The Outsiders - S.E. Hinson
Platoon - Dale A. Dye

At some point I'll probably re-read'

The Quiet Game - Greg Iles
Spandau Phoenix - Greg Iles
Different Seasons - Stephen King

The Gift - Vladimir Nabokov
The Waves - Virginia Woolf
The Untouchable - John Banville
Ulysses - James Joyce
Light Years - James Salter

None can be absorbed in one reading, and they all still await their re-reading.

Rebecca - Daphne Du Mauruier
Secret Diary of Adrian Mole - Sue Townsend
The Summer Book - Tove Jansson
His Dark Materials - Philip Pullman
The Poisonwood Bible - Barbara Kingsolver

Actually I'm not happy with this list. Gonna rethink/repost later...

Just five?! Oh very well, I will attempt such a limited list...

The Silmarillion - J.R.R. Tolkien
The Count of Monte Cristo - Alexandre Dumas
The Scarlet Pimpernel - Emmuska Orczy
The Silver Wolf - Alice Borchardt
Jane Eyre - Charlotte Bronte

Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell
The Sea by John Banville
The Moviegoer by Walker Percy
Casanova in Bolzano by Sandor Marai
The Untouchable by John Banville

Five really isn't enough...I'd have to add anything by Nabokov or Banville to be more complete.

I am currently rereading Curse of the Pogo Stick by Colin Cotterill. I have reread all of his books. Also I have reread, and probably would again these books:
The Main by Trevanian
The Honourable Schoolboy by John Le Carre
Lines and Shadows by Joseph Wambaugh
heart of darkness by Joseph Conrad

I would like to re-read:
  1. Anne Rice's Sleeping Beauty trilogy (I've gone back and skimmed through it and have also listened to it on audio on road trips, but I'd like to thoroughly re-read it.)
  2. King's The Stand
  3. Levin's Rosemary's Baby
After reading the lists of others, I'm gonna say:
4. Lolita - Nabokov
5. His Dark Materials - Pullman

Firstly, great idea for a thread!

My five:

1) The Road - Cormac McCarthy
2) Fight Club - Chuck Palahniuk
3) Life Of Pi - Yann Martel
4) American Psycho - Bret Easton Ellis
5) The Book Thief - Markus Zusak

All good quality literature needs to be reread if the reader wants to understand the full scope of the work. Having said that, my personal favorites are:
-Jonathan Livingstone Seagul (Bach) because of its inspirational quality
-Macbeth because of its difficulty level
-Siddhartha for its philosophical quality
