Hi All

JulieKay

New Member
Just joined up in this group. I am in a forum that looks just like this called Crochetville, and someone there mentioned this message board ,so here I am .:)

I'm glad I found one set up exactly the same .Very easy for me to navigate since I have been a member over in the other group for 5 years .

It's nice to find a place where others love to read and discuss books. I used to lead a book discussion group online many years ago . ( About 15 ? maybe )

I like many types of books ,and am excited to drop into some of the monthly group reads if they sound like something I'd be interested in .

It's hard to narrow down my favorite books, other than to say I like books which teach you something about Life and maybe ways to improve it or learn an important life lesson .

I like lots of nonfiction ,including history and true crime .

I'm not much interested in romance or scifi ,but I have no problem with anyone else who likes them . That is what makes life interesting .We all like different things . ;)

So ...I guess that's all I can think of to say at the moment .

Will be excited to meet new people, get new book ideas and have people to discuss them with .

Hi!

I haven't read much true crime. Though I did read (at random) a Joseph Wambaugh book just a few weeks ago. Enjoyed it.

Happy reading!

Hi David
Thank you for the welcome. I read a couple of the Wambaugh books a long time ago,but can't remember which ones . I wish I would have kept better count of all the books I have read . I know a lady who has done that her entire life, and has several notebooks of books listed, from when she was small, clear up until now. She is probably about 40 now .

Enjoy your evening ! :)

Hi Libra
Thanks ! This seems to be a pretty friendly place ! Good to find other people who enjoy reading . I have spent the past few days watching youtube videos of people talking about the 50 book challenge . It seems like a majority of them were young people .
I'm really glad to see young people who love to read. I guess I think of most young teens now liking video games and things like that for entertainment, so it's nice to know that reading is still a popular hobby for some .

Is there a place in here that does the 50 book challenge ? Maybe I could give it a try this coming January .

Hi, Julie!

I haven't explored enough to know if there's a challenge here or not. I DO know, though, that many members here seem to be fast readers!
And this forum doesn't move as fast as crochetville, thank goodness!

Hi Julie, welcome to BAR.
We don't have a thread about the 50 book challenge yet but you're more then welcome to start one.
