How not to react to a bad review

If I were a man I'd ask her to marry me immediately so we could spawn and spread her insanity across the world.

She's clearly unstable.:whistling:

So funny...

Reminds me of another artist I knew. Not an author but a spriter for a webgame. She got so angry when many players do not like what she designed (mind you, there still are many who loved her work), and she decided to ask the webmaster to pull her work off the site entirely....

I say, if you can't take a negative review/opinion with calm, then do not make your work public. At least you can play dead and ignore the bad reviews, can't you?

Check out some of the 5 star Amazon reviews. :D

BWAHAHAHA! The most helpful five star review:

A GREAT story about Seaman, March 29, 2011
By Dunning KrugerThis review is from: The Greek Seaman (Kindle Edition)
I've traveled the world and can understand the author's attraction to Greek Seaman. Although, I have never experienced Greek Seaman, I consider myself an expert in Seaman from around the world. I have been exposed to warm Seaman, cloudy Seaman, forceful Seaman, drippy Seaman and salty Seaman. I have received Danish Seaman, Russian Seaman, Japanese Seaman and even countries that couldn't provide Seaman. Obviously, I love Seaman. I'm always looking for any chance to experience Seaman. Thanks to this author, I know now that Greek Seaman is something I have to have. The desire for Greek Seaman is so intense that I can almost taste it. Please read this book. I guarantee that you'll want to have as much Greek Seaman as possible. This book is excellent but don't read it as much. I don't want you to choke on Greek Seaman. I tend not to read 5-star reviews on Amazon. A five-star review in my opinion is one that is earned by a book that is truly original and moves the genre forward or in a new direction.

lol @ "During proceedings it emerged that the author had used a number of online pseudonyms to review his self-published book and come to his defence once people began to criticise his work."

Have any of you on goodreads been inundated with requests for reviews from self-pubbed writers?

Yup. For those who don't want to click the link to the actual site, one of their targets put a up a screencap here. Remember, the next time you post a bad review... sorry, "attack a writer" on Goodreads, you too could be exposed as a drunk and an unfit parent.

The Internet definitely opens up new ways of communication and expression which wouldn't so frequently be used in face-to-face communication and between people who wouldn't ordinarily encounter each other face-to-face. And it is not confined only to reactions to reviews, but frequently also merely to differing opinions. So I am somewhat surpised at the astonishment shown in this thread.
