Yes I bought your E-Reader, no, I don't want your emails.

Forgive me for ranting, but I have found that in the modern age, buying a product has turned into some sort of implicit agreement to receiving marketing emails about it and the myriad of things you think I should do with it. I know what I want to do with my Nook, Barnes and Noble, I want to buy books, read them and then hack the thing to do all sorts of things you didn't want me doing with it.

The fact that you constantly send me emails about this and that and the other, making horrible suggestions of books I should buy, magazines I should try out and new apps I just have to buy only makes me regret telling you my email address. YOU SAID YOU WERE ONLY GOING TO TELL ME ABOUT OS UPDATES.

Baby, why do you make me hit you?

So who got the Kindle Daily Deal mail from Amazon this morning?

I know trggr didn't, because he is one of them.

The inaugural offering is weak. I soooo look forward to getting them daily.

Introducing Kindle Daily Deal

Today only, Newbery award-winning author Kate Dicamillo's The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane is $1.39 (75% off yesterday's price).

Each day, we're unveiling one Kindle book at a specially discounted price. Bookmark amazon.com/kindledailydeal and check back daily to see what's next. Deals go live at approximately 12:00 a.m. Pacific time and run for 24 hours.

Well, I suppose they're not going to put their bestsellers on a daily deal since the idea of the deal is to get you to buy something you probably wouldn't buy without some coaxing. It could be worse. I'll have to check out the daily deal. I like obscure things.

True enough. I get enough mail from Amazon as it is though, it will end up not being looked at just as none of their "suggestions".

And I love Amazon...

Agreed. I read the subject line of their emails and then delete them if they don't interest me. To be honest, I don't need more temptation to buy books. Hubby already says I have a problem and recommended I attend RA (Reader's Anonymous).

P.S. I think I would love to attend such a "self-help group", though I think it would probably do more harm than good for my addiction.

Literally just started it. Got about 20 pages in last night before the Kindle started hitting me in the nose.

Just read to me and I am yours.

We can take long walks on the beach and get caught in the rain, then share a pina coloda at a bar named O'Malley's. As long as you're not into yoga and like champagne.
