I'll start!

I suggest a Poirot mystery: Death on the Nile. You can't go wrong with Agatha Christie ;)

Ah mysteries, one of my favorite genres.

Gorky Park - Martin Cruz Smith (a re-read but worth it)
The Killer Inside Me - Jim Thompson
Black Light - Stephen Hunter (a re-read but worth it)
Murder on the Orient Express - Agatha Christie

David Baldacci: Zero Day
Edna Buchanan: A Dark and Lonely Place
Michael Connelly: The Drop

How many am I allowed to suggest?

The Big Sleep - Raymond Chandler
The Name of the Rose - Umberto Eco
The Mind's Eye by Håkan Nesser

I'd second Gorky Park - it's a lot of years since I read it and also saw the movie. It was a good one.

It seems as though we have quite a lot of books suggested and it looks as though the selection might have to be decided either arbirtrarily or the titles put into a hat and drawn. What do you think?

I think one title per person would be simpler too.

brk_3, Alix and eclair, can you please pick just one of your suggestions?

canuck, when we have all the suggestions we'll do a poll to pick the book. Unless, of course, one of the suggestions has enough consensus to be picked without the need for a poll.

I'll go with The Killer Inside Me by Jim Thompson
Since I don't have this one waiting on the shelf at the moment. It will give me an excuse to go the stores and library. ;)

David Baldacci: Zero Day
Edna Buchanan: A Dark and Lonely Place
Michael Connelly: The Drop

How many am I allowed to suggest?

I'm actually reading Zero Day and really enjoying it. It reminds me of Jack Reacher.

I second The Drop by Michael Connelly. Anything by that guy is good.

Certainly wouldn't mind reading The Drop. A lot of the authors mentioned before I haven't read any of their work.

Correction: I have read books by a couple of the authors and Zero Day sounds alright if it reminds Tai of Lee Child's books.

They are similar but it's not good as Jack Reacher. The character in Zero Day is kinda robotic so you don't really feel for him.
