Karen Miller: The Innocent Mage

Hello...

Anyone reading this one? I have to confess, I fell for this book because of the cover. It's a brilliant watercolour cover, and it's beautiful. And it's a picture of a mage, to boot. Watercolour + mage + magic + fantasy book = purchase!

Yes, sometimes I buy books for the silliest reasons. I don't remember the last time I bought a book on a whim because I was drawn to the cover.

So, I'm almost done with it, but before I post my thoughts, I'd like to know if anyone else has picked this up?

It's the amazon one, Occlith. It looks much better directly in front of you, with all the watercolour nuances.

I'm a freak.

I actually sat in the readers corner and read the first couple of chapters before deciding yeah, this is passably good.

If I had done that before I bought Trudi Canavan's The Novice I would never have bought it.

I absolutely loved these two Mage books. I also bought it because I was looking for a new book and it looked pretty and talked about mages and magic! :)

I have to say though, as much as people say 'why do fantasy books always have to be in trilogies', I really thought that these two books should have been spread out into three. The first book was great, as was the second, but the second book was so jam packed with (a little too much) action, that it seemed a bit crammed and rushed.

Still love them though :)

Dito, fell first for the cover, too *grins*
bought the yellow one, and thought it perfect, how the persons mix on the back of volumes one and two standing in the shelf together, just couldn't say no.

but I reading I found, I like the story, too, though at first I wasn't that happy with the definite ending of the princess in, because I liked her best, but in the end the story turned out fine, just as it was written.
Now I heard there's a third book, or rather a spin off, but what's it's title?
