I was thinking more that you weren't actually going to read it.

How was A Simple Habana Melody?

It was my forth Hijuelos novel and I most say he never disapponints. He prose reads like poetry. Hijuelos, being an award wining writer, is worth every readers time and money. If you are of Cuban decent (like me) even better. The setting is in Havan and Paris during the France's surrender overtake by the Germans. The hero of the novel, a Cuban musician write a hit a brings him worldly acclaim. He is invited to perform in Paris jus prioir to the occupation; because of his Jewish-sounding name -- Israel Levis -- he is taken prisoner. The rest I will not explain for the sake of those unfamiliar with the story. It is a deeply sorrowful tale of love, injustice, and personal triuph over extreme adversity. A drama that takes you in and never let's you go. Marvelous! Hijuelos themes are mostly ser in Cuban history and its customs, and passionate, rich culture.

Do not allow this writer's underrateded grade fool you. He is a master of his craft. My person favorite one of of his is, in part called, The Thirteen Sisters.... His novel titles are lenghtly so I am not writing them item.

I enjoyed it very mucch. By the way he won a Pulitzer for his outstanding book: The Mambo Kings Play Songs of Love (long titles I must say). I own nearly all his works, and read the grand majority of them with full saticfaction. Oscar Hijuelos will not disappoint.

Thumb up (way up).

Hey! I did it!! An actual, well rounded, book review. My first worthy overview of a read novel. Coolage.

Now, now. Let's not slap my back too much. It makes me feel like a retard who just solved the yet incomplete relativity equation.

It's just a simply book review for goodness sake. Too much praise, on such a simple book review. Chaotic ovations won't do. It's like giving a chimp a banana because it learned a gestured sign.

Remember: I have a well formed, and highly evolved frontal lobe; and not a dead pile of horse crap between my ears. Heck I can write reviews. The earth hasn't ceased to roll on its axis. Jeez.

Oops...I forgot: medication time!

Thanks Carlos, that is a good review, good enough to rope me into reading Hijuelos. I've investigated on Amazon, and you are right, he has loads of good books written. :)
