Micheal Connelly

I'll pick up The Drop as soon as it's release.

I do like The Scarecrow and I think Jack McAvoy is a character he really needs to write more about. I still like the Poet better because of how it all comes together at the end.
I do agree with you about 9 Dragons. It's not really a mystery book to me but more of a thriller. I think they are setting up for the future with what happened in that book though.

If you haven't read his other stand alone Void Moon it's another entertaining book.

Please excuse my French, but the way The Poet went out was shit. The Narrows is a very boring book, I love Bosch in a 3rd person perspective, but in 1st person I hate him. McEvoy actually has a pretty cool 1st person perspective.

I just really wished that McEvoy was the one to have the final battle with the Poet, not Bosch.

Just finished The Poet and found it enjoyable but I didn't like the rotten guy getting away at the end, however, from the sound of it Harry Bosch finishes him off at some point? Thought the McEvoy character was a little indecisive, not really the hero type although he did follow up on all his leads like a good journalist. Now reading The Fifth Witness, pretty good so far. :)

Trust me, not as awesome as it sounds. Bosch's first person narrative is very boring, even though out of McEvoy and him, he's definitely the cooler character(if that makes sense.).

Void Moon is in the library today. After I get out of school, my mom is going to take me to pick it up.

Read The Narrows and you'll get the answer. No spoiler from me.

After reading some of The Drop excerpt on Connelly's website, I have to say...things are looking up(pun intended).

I'm gonna read this as soon as I can get my hands on it.

I read The Poet first and followed that up with its sequel, The Narrows. Both excellent books but because Connelly also includes a lot of Bosch's private life in his books, I then read the rest of the Bosch books in order. I've now just finished The Drop and also read the McCaleb/McEvoy/Walling books and am just about to start The Fifth Witness. that'll leave me having to wait until further books are published, so I'm on the lookout for another good series to start reading (I've gone through Child's Reacher and Crais' Cole and Pike).
