Today Was A Bad Day For Me:

Carlos, we all know by now that you're sick, but being sick does not give you a free pass to do and say anything. And I'm not even refering to what happened at the other forum, you were rude and agressive right here on BAR and you're not even able to apologise for all that you said.

Bottom-line, although I feel sorry for you and I understand how hard it must be to live with your sickness, I do not feel in the least obliged to put up with your rants just because you're sick. Nor do I feel inclined to dismiss them as normal episodes when you show no remorse for what you put people through.

I agree with Landslide. Also, Carlos, if you do happen to be in one of these mentally distorted periods, simply stay off the forum so you won't insult people. Being ill is not an excuse for how you behaved here and elsewhere.

Aye.

Carlos: Sorry I'm late to the party, but as I read thru this thread I'm astounded at the love you've been given so far from this wonderful bunch of people. While some of it might seem a bit harsh, that 's what friends do for eachother; speak the truth in love. I hope you'll take these words to heart and will use them to remind yourself that you ARE more than your illness. You can rise above it. Take care of yourself!:flowers:

Something is going completely over my head.

Being asked to apologize here for something said to someone else on some other forum?
Being asked to apologize here for something said that was insulting toward this forum at large?
Being asked to apologize for something said here that I should regard as personally insulting?

I haven't felt insulted by anything Carlos has said, so I'm confused by this whole thing.

Carlos went on a posting spree about a month ago - on this forum - during which he insulted a member of a different forum he was up until then a member of as he had been banned. These posts were filled with a variety of expletives, usage of which would normally result in a temporary or permanent ban. Carlos has since returned and we, the moderating team, expect an apology as well as some sort of explanation of his behaviour; specifically one that is more than the usual excuse of blaming the disease. However, it appears that Carlos has returned and is happily posting as if the 30-day ban never happened; hence the numerous requests for an apology.

Hope that clears things up a little.

Aye. Pretty much what PP said.

I have a soft spot in my heart for our accidental troll and that's why he got 30 days instead of 10,000.

I apologize for the outbursts due to a direct result of a bipolar attack which I had no, none, zero, nada, control over. This in not an excuse -- this is a reason, the true reaon.

No control over your fingers, no way not to post, no way to stay away from the computer, eh?

Right. Gotcha. It's just impossible for you to actually apologize. I'm with the others, stay off the net if you can't control yourself. That's ridiculous.

Mental illness is not an excuse for behaviour. I work in mental health and never would I allow any of the adolescents I work with to behave this way. Accountability is essential.

I haven't been around that long, but Carlos/Author/aquablue...(whatever incarnation is current) should be subject to the same rules as any other member of the boards. Profanity and namecalling are never OK.

Sir, you've acknowledged that your temporary banishment was "a good call" so why is it so difficult for you to take responsibility for your actions, and apologize for them? As I recall, at the time, you had enough self control to ask for editing in that thread and you offered some type of apology then. What is different now? ?

If you respect the people you are with conversing with, and clearly you must with the amount advice you ask of them, then stay offline when you are going through an 'episode'. And try to stop making nearly every post, even those in connection with your 'episodes' sound like a creative writing exercise.

Wow...I'm new to this forum and this situation, but I was intrigued and read some past threads. Author, I'm sorry you struggle so much with your mental illness. I'm very curious why your specialist can't medicate you so you don't have these bad episodes. I found a thread from a couple years ago where they discovered you had one more condition than you thought and gave you a new med. At that time, you were thrilled at how focused you were and how great you felt. What happened to that?

In my experience in working with people who are afflicted by mental illness of this nature, you don't get off scot free by blaming your illness for your bad behavior. If you want to be part of a group of people, you have to learn to get along with them, or at least absent yourself when you're having a bad episode. Why should they put up with you if you won't make the effort? Should you get to wreck someone else's car and walk away without an apology because you're sick? Should you get to steal something because you're sick? Murder someone? Rape someone? No. Society has laws and expectations for how you treat people, and no matter what your challenges are, you have to find a way to follow those laws and expectations.

I agree with everyone above me said. This is hardly an apology, it is merely another version of another post someplace in this thread saying your illness is to blame. You are responsible for whatever you say on here, good and bad, and all we are asking you to do right now is to accept responsibility of your actions.

I will attemp to send the person my apology, if I am able to find a link to her. How's that?

You are a horrific person.

If I ever need a character who is heartless, selfish beyond belief, has zero self-control and acts like an eight-year-old, I'll model him after you.

*sigh*

You are expected to apologize to this board and its members for the unnecessarily profane language; in a way that is more than just an excuse.

I'm not giving you any more chances after this.

Lovecraftian,
Speaking of staying off the net if you can’t control yourself…

You are a horrific person.

This is name-calling and bullying. It is a very strong reaction to one post with cuss words, especially since you probably never even saw the original post in the first place, and that post was not directed at you.

Author/Carlos,
Please try again to apologize. I enjoy reading your posts, and I don’t want you to quit this forum.
