Hello to everyone. Last night I was watching John Carter. When I was 14 I read the Burroughs' book "A Princes of Mars". I felt in love with the story (I think this was the reason now I'm a writer. My first book was a tribute to Burroughs) . I've been waiting for this movie since that first time; 30 years. Now I don't know what to say. More than two hours full of felicity. I loved the film but perhaps I was marked by the book. Do you like the movie? Do you expect more? I think I'll watch the movie again tonight.

Why waly disney knew this before the premier? Why they spend a lot of money in publicity? Did they hope the disaster?
well I have the hope the movie goes better. this was the story of my life!

Why they spend a lot of money in publicity?

Presumably to get people to watch it? It's how big-budget blockbusters work these days: Spend hundreds of millions on making the film, then spend just as much trying to convince people to watch it, then close your eyes and wish real hard that it'll be "too big to fail." Movie studios are like car manufacturers at this point: bet the entire company on the next model. Hollywood, I've got Detroit on the other line...

I liked this comment:
Could they have picked a more uninspired, generic title for this movie? Was "John Smith" trademarked and therefore unavailable?
