I have never been able to read anything before maybe I just never found anything I liked but I picked up game of thrones after watching the series and haven't stopped reading since.
I am looking for some more fantasy books to read but I am not interested in real fantasy stuff with magic and wizards and goblins and etc.
I started reading the sword of truth and I don't really like it very much.
If anyone has any good suggestions on more medieval style or Ancient Rome gladiator kind of stuff please help me out.

Jacqueline Carey's Kushiel's Dart series has almost no magic in it. You might want to take a look at Guy Gavriel Kay. His The Lions of al_Rassan is set in Spain while the Catholics, Muslims, and Jews are there just before the reconquista, and Sailing to Sarantium and Lord of Emperors are set in Byzantium during the empire. The Once and Future King by T.H. White could be right up your alley, I do believe there is some magic involved but it deals with King Arthur and the roundtable and Merlin, etc. Richard Adams Shardik could be enjoyable for you. That's all I got for now.

Hey thanks I am reading under heaven right now I so far love it, guy gavriel has definatly grabbed my attention, I will look into the other books by him for sure. Thanks a lot

I am reading the Inheritance Trilogy by N.K. Jemisin - it starts with The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms. You might like it.
