Erika Robuck: Hemingway's Girl

I am just wondering if anyone out there has read this book? Especially any guys? And if you did does it get any better? I picked it up because it was a nook book special and I am interested in Hemingway and as a bonus it is set in Key West. All things that I thought I would like. I am on about page 70 and I swear if I read any more about how this girl's body tingles and her face flushes when she sees/touches/thinks of Hemingway I may just throw up.

Apparently Hemingway wasn't known for his descriptive writing. His art was in dialogue.

But I've been interested in Hemingway as well since there seems to be quite a stir about his works; except, like you, every time I pick up a piece of his writing, I become bored.

Is there a book that you might suggest of his? Something that will spark my interest to read him.

Currently I am a Fitzgerald fan, as his prose is wonderfully written. He has a poetry about him and his vocabulary is immense.

I've recently finished all of his works and have moved onto Dostoyevsky.

As per your question; if you're looking for a writer whose attention to detail is as minute as his choice of words, then you must begin reading Fitzgerald. Any piece really, they're all wonderful. If you want romance with a dash of drama, try The Beautiful and Damned - about a psychiatrist falling in love with a schizophrenic patient. To be honest, my opinion holds that The Great Gatsby was his worst piece. Funny how it's the most recognized.
