Hello there, I'm brand spanking new!

Hi. I'm new, as you already know.

I've always been an avid reader, reading anything I can get my sticky fingers on. Recently though, I find myself getting very picky and grumpy about the things I read (but I still read them anyway). Perhaps it's the accumulation of all the bad pulp I've read that have festered into a toxic cesspool at the bottom of my brain. Or maybe it's my recent obsession with Vladimir Nabokov (By recent, I mean for the past four years. And by obsession... well, I think it's an improvement that I didn't put an "ich" at the end of Dmitriev, but a part of me still feels I am not obsessed enough.) that have left me generally unsatisfied with anything un-Nabokovian.

I am the kind of person who agonizes over minute details without achieving anything. (If only you knew how long this post took me...) I like parentheses (and I use them to my hearts content). I try to avoid abusing post-scripts, as they are precious things. And I always feel like introduction forums are a place of justifiable narcissism (not that I am... but a little narcissism once in a while never hurt nobody).

I could have written more (which is why I will never understand Twitter),
Dmitri Dmitriev,
Humbly at your service.

I've only recently gotten into twitter....short thoughts there.
Long posts are cool. Nice to meet you. Parenthesis are neat...handy things.
