Eh, I suppose short stories deserve some recognition too.
A Wilderness Station had an interesting set up.

I've been a longtime fan of Alice Munro and extremely happy she received the Nobel. I think short stories are under-appreciated by many readers. So difficult to do well. Marvelous when they work.

Which of her stories would you say are the most demonstrative of her abilities?
I don't know that I can pinpoint one particular story. I've always read her stories as part of a collection and, to me, they are best read that way. I tend to get immersed in the world she creates with her characters and just fall headlong from one story to the next.

So, I would say just dive into one of her collections. Three of my favourites are Hateship, Friendship, Courtship, Loveship Marriage; Open Secrets; and Love of a Good Woman.
