Just finished Crash by J. G. Ballard. The concept was original, but over the course of the novel it became pretty redundant.

Finally finished Abhorsen today, thank goodness. I was bored for most of it, but the last third was much better, with an excellent ending. :)

Just finished Howling Mad by Peter David. Its an interesting account of a wolf who turns into a human at full-moon after he was bitten by a werewolf. Definitely could feel David's style of writing throughout the book. He's a pretty funny guy, and his concept of a wolf turning into a man is different. The book is rather short, thus preventing the plot from stalling at any point. The middle was a bit slow, but not so much to be boring. If you enjoy Peter David's novels, definitely check into this one.

Just finished The Picture of Dorian Gray and jolly good it was too. I suppose I should be careful when choosing avatars lest they leave an impression on my soul.

Might start The Dante Club next, but I bought it in a 3 for 2 and mostly based on the fact that it was quite a pretty book. It says there are murders in it, so I'm hoping it'll appeal to me.

Yea I liked brave new world too. I read it online at Bibliomania. Has anyone else ever been to that site?

i finished reading "ensayo sobre la lucidez" by saramago last week, its ok, but not as good as i expect it to be
i would recomend it, but its not as good as other novels by the same author, although you get to know what happened to the group of "blindness"

I just finished Animal Farm by George Orwell. I usually don't pass judgement on books so quickly but I must say it's one of my favorite books. I truly loved it. I think everyone should be forced to read this book! But I suppose it would go against what the book represents!

i just recently finished the eighth book of the soT series, "naked empire" and it was amazing! i cant wait for chainfire to come! it was very good and was focused on the wizard's rule: deserve victory, with very well developed characters and a partly predictable yet still surprising type of a plot.

Well today I took a break from my current 1000 page book and went out and bought the first Harry Potter book, I read it in about 5 hours it was GREAT! I loved it! Now back to my other book.

Was the Harry Potter book really great? I've always kinda kept away from them, maybe I should try them out. I've just finished 1984-George Orwell, starting Good Omens-Neil Gaiman, Terry Pratchett.

I just finished Atwood's Oryx and Crake, which started out a bit slow, but turned out to be an excellent read in the end.

Highly recommended!

Cheers

I enjoyed HP. Its a cute and quick read. Its definitely worth a try. I avoided them for a long time, but ended up reading the first four within a week once I started reading them.

BTW - Good Omens is great. :)

That's good. I really liked American God by Neil Gaiman and was looking for something else by him. I'll eventually read the HP books, I have quite a list of my own to go through though. :)

I just finished the Swords of Night and Day by David Gemmell, which I thought was superb. It was set up well by White Wolf, but SoNaD totally surpassed it.

Finishing up Galapagos, great book....might have bust into my top five....on to Cosmocomics next, followed most likely by Wabbits suggestion of Was (it's on order, we didn't have it in stock, D'oh!)
