Does size matter?

I can enjoy any size of book so long as the story is compelling and well-written. Some long books actually seem to end too soon :), whereas some drag on. It all depends upon the writing.

Yes, I think this is right. I would be interested to know which long book you felt was still too short Supe?

They've probably been mostly Young Adult fiction. If I'm really into a book, I hate to see it end. All the Harry Potter books, Mockingjay (the end felt rushed), Andrea Cremer's Nightshade.... and Robin McKinley's Pegasus totally dragged in parts and was a bit slow moving, but I HATED getting to the end because it was only one half of the story. I would have like the entire thing in one book rather than broken into two.

Gosh you would not like Game of Thrones then it's broken into seven!
I must confess I prefer each book in a series to be self contained.
