Tess Gerritsen: Rizzoli & Isles Series

Karen, love your new avatar.
Thanks.

I find myself prone to overdosing when I get excited about a book and then binge read more in the series. I've found it's better to break up my reading.
Yeah, I tend to do that too although in my case it's not always necessarily books from a series, sometimes it's just books by the same author which can then sometimes begin to feel a bit like they're all the same.

With that in mind I think I might alternate them with something completely different and see how I get on. Thanks for helping me make my decision.

I agree, Karen. It's like eating too much candy or ice cream. I find something we like, and I eat it until I nearly make ourselves sick on it. I have "comfort reads"--books from series that I know I love--that I hoard and deliberately don't read until I need what I know will be a satisfying read. Some of my "comfort reads" include Dana Stabenow's Kate Shugak series, Craig Johnson's Walt Longmire series, Alanna Martin's Texana Jones series, Kathryn R. Wall's Bay Tanner series. Most of the time I'm willing to take a chance on a new author (I do read reviews before choosing, even on a free book), but there are times when only a known quality will do. (I also reread favorites, like Dorothy L. Sayers).

I love books from a series and am always looking out for new authors so I've taken a note of these and will definitely check them out.
