My name is Steve Fujita. I am an author. I am based in Long Beach, California. Almost a half century on this planet and still trying to find my writing niche - though supernatural fanatsy would be a good guess.

Although I grew up with television, I read alot growing up, including comic books, but still a lot of reading. But as I entered adulthood and the working world, tv took more and more time. After suffering an illness in 2012, I cut off my tv service, and although I had never stopped reading books, book reading has come back strongly.

In 2010, I wrote a novella titled Sword of the Undead, which is Bram Stoker's Dracula, re-told, but the vampire being a Japanese samurai warlord. However, in 2012, my writing got sidetracked when I came down with meningitis, ended up paralyzed, and concentrated on recovery, which I did for the most part, and still continue to recover. I wrote a book about my recovery titled, Toe Up to 10K: A Journey of Recovery from Spinal Cord Injury.

My reading tasted are eclectic. Proud reading moment? About a year ago, I read my first Sue Grafton novel, A is for Alibi, and where had I been? And now, I just finished "V" a couple of days ago.

Nice to meet you, I'm glad to hear your doing better.how did you like A is for Alibi?I finished that book several months ago, I'm on E now.have not started it yet.

Welcome, Steve! What a journey you've been on. We're glad you're here & your stories sound interesting.

I haven't read any Sue Grafton yet, but seeing as the two of you are recommending them, I'm going to add "A" to my list. :)

Nice to meet you, too. Thank you for your words.

I liked "A" enough to read "B" - and "B" enough to read "C." I got hooked into Kinsey's personality, and the continuity of the stories. Before I knew it, I was looking forward to the next letter of the alphabet. I'm kind of sad that I am current. Now, that I know the characters so well, I am thinking of starting the series over.

Thank you. I remember being in high school or college when "A" came out (about 20 years ago), but I didn't get around to reading it until last year. Some people bing view tv shows. I ended up binge reading Grafton's alphabet series. I highly reccommend the series.

Did you finish the series? Would your continuation be in inspiration to the sue Grafton series or you actually will continue as Kinsey? :)

Actually, I meant reading the whole series over again. The series is at "W" and I think the new ones come out every 1 - 2 years. I rarely re-read fiction books, but in this case, I think I will enjoy re-reading them the second time around even more. As writing any continuation, I had not thought about, but now that you mention it, if Grafton ever officially approves (eg, it appears on the list of approved Fan Fiction on Amazon), it would be as Kinsey in the form of Fan Fiction.

Oooo ok I got ya. I'm sorry. There is a lot of writers here on this forum.I figured you were a writer also. Or you may be one ;). O wait you are.I just re-read your introduction. How many books have you published?

I have published three books, of very unsimilar topics.

1. Sword of the Undead - A re-telling of Bram Stoker's Dracula, but the vam[pire being a Japanese samurai warlord.

2. $10 a Day Towards $1,000,000 - a personal finance book that focuses on using your employer's retirement savings plan to save money for retirement.

3. Toe Up to 10: A Journey of Recovery from Spinal Cord Injury - which chronicles my recovery from ICU to being paralyzed, to learoing to walk again.

The links go to the Amazon page, but all the books are available at Barnes and Noble and other retailers ($10 a Day... is in eBook format only).

Do you mean you published your own work?
I would be interested in knowing how you went about this and how much it cost you?

My answer was so long (about 1200 words) that I did a blogpost on your question. If I had posted it here, it would have probably taken up more than one page.

Here is the link to my reply to your question:

Hello Steve, fighting, hope to have a chance to get your books, is it possible?

Hello Kitty,

I don't sell my books directly, but they are available through Amazon and other retailers. They are available at most nation's Amazon sites, but not all. For instance, I know Amazon.cn does not sell English language titles.

I wish you and your brother the best. I have two facebook pages you may find helpful. They are Toe Up to 10K, which I post stuff about spinal cord injuries and Steven Fujita, which is my author page on facebook.
