This site is extremely helpful if you need your work critiqued. You can post one story per week. You need to critique others to earn points to post more work. And that system works like clockwork! By critiquing others you also learn very quickly what to watch out for in your own writing.
I posted one chapter and I got a lot of feedback to improve my writing.

I have been on the above websites for a few weeks now and I recommend Scribophile.
There you can edit your posted story always. In CritiqueCircle, it is not possible to edit once you submit a story to a queue.
Furthermore, at Scribophile, they have a one-for-one group where you can trade story's with other critters. This way you don't have a waiting line and thus goes much faster.
Both sites work with points that you collect by critting others.

In CritiqueCircle they have a queue called "The hook" (That runs from Friday to Sunday), where you can post a max of 1000 words, to find out if your story hooks someone. This is anonymous (both posters and critters), so the feedback is extremely honest and useful, but you better have a thick skin :)
