What's Missing Most in Romance?

I know books were meant to tackle a theme or few themes and so can't encompass everything. Keeping that in mind, what do you think is missing from romantic novels on the whole? What's something every romance novel should encompass that isn't done or could be done better?

One of my issues with many romance novels is the easy resolution to problems. I know romance is the center of the story but it rings false
I agree. Everything is wrapped way too easily. If you're going to have a happy ending make the main character suffer and work for it.

Yeah, I see people say that all the time, that solutions are way too easy. I'm curious to see some actual examples of a good resolutions, though.

As someone who writes romance from time to from (okay, a lot of the time) it would be interesting, not to mention helpful

there is a book I am reading now off Amazon called "The SpellBinder's Grim" By Genesis Batista
And it is a paranormal Romance and it stays interesting. i like it

Currently i am reading " Raw Dog Secrets & Dreadlocks" romance books on Amazon by "vee boi baby. That's quite interesting and recommend you to read it.

Most romance novels are the same, sometimes they don't have originality. But the ones that are original are the best.

Try "Fearless Embrace" by Kathy Bottensek. It's romance, action, and adventure that has no dull moments, keeping you interested all the way to the end. Happy Reading!

I agree with you. I feel like a lot of romance novels where the main genre is romance if it's contemporary or "realistic" aka no unique circumstances like world is ending, vampires, zombies, time travel, etc what have you, then the story usually only focuses on the romance and not other potential plot lines.
