looking for a book

Dear All,

I have been looking for a book for a while now, I do not remember the title, nor the author. I hope you can help.

It is about a 15 year old psycho murderer who kills girls. He goes to malls and pretends to limp, and there is where he chooses his victims. I think he fakes the limping so nobody recognizes him, or maybe he wants to seem harmless. One day, he eventually gets caught by the police and ends up in prison. While in jail, he attends classes, meets good teachers, and starts regreting all the bad things he has done. He changes. Finally, he is released by the age of 18, and wants to start a new life. He goes to live by his aunt, who is of course afraid of him. (i'm not sure if he murdered his own parents) But he does nothing to her. He has plans, he wants to pass his driving license and get away. He meets a nice girl (but it is a trap set up by the police), they meet a few times and he develops feelings for her. One day, they go to a lake ( or a river) and an accident happens, the girls drowns. What he didn't know is that the police were not so far, always watching him because they thought he would eventually kill someone again. That time, it is not his fault, but nobody believes him except one cop, who says it is not a murder because it is not his M.O. (modus operandi). He still goes back to jail, and at night he cries because it is not his fault. I think the book ends up with a sentence like : that night, the monster cried too. So, folks, that is all I got, I hope I will be hering from you. That book was cruel, but i read it as a was a teenager (15 years ago) and I would like to read it again. In my memories, the book was meant for teenagers or young adults.

Why do you want to read it again while you can obviously remember so much of the content?
Why not wait until you cannot?

Dear Bede,

I love reading detective novels, and It was 15 years ago. I reallly want to read it again. I have to look for the book while I still remember all these details. I want to buy the book, and if I start looking for the book in 10 years, I may have forgotten the story and it could become even more difficult finding it.

I would look for the e-version then, I'm sure you know the sites to check
