useful to see......

Transformers comic series Lost Light, and it's ma'am :) Most people get confused by my user name.

No worries. Several years ago I had a cat named Reggie, he used to walk on a leash like a dog, hence, regdog

What the heck? Adverts in individuals posts?? Grrrrr!

I deleted my previous post on account of the uninvited advert placed in it by who knows what/who.

I've had that happen to me. If you tried to link to a picture or emoticon hosted by Photobucket, they won't link unless you upgrade your account to a paid account. Instead they put that update picture

Hmmm. Thanks for responding.
I didn't attempt to post anything like that, I only typed the emoticon for a smile.

I'd mentioned I liked your story about your cat. /smile/

They may be the host site for B&Rs emotictons which would explain why it popped up. I'll try and post one and see what happens. Yup, same thing, they're B&Rs emoticon host site.

I do not mind it the slightest and thank you for the welcome. Is this site always so quiet, or have I joined at a bad time?

Apologies for the time lag.
It seems to be that way the past few years. 10 or 12 years ago this site was quite active, with interesting bookish discussions. As you can tell by the lack of response on the BOTM threads, that is no longer the case. The site changed hands, maybe twice and while the present owners have seemingly tried to get things going.....there hasn't been much success IMO.

Possibly sites like Facebook, twitter, etals have fed the quick 140 (or whatever the number is at present) character responses, and dulled the taste for discussion/conversation. FWIW, that trend extends into all aspects of life, I believe.

Accurate. Facebook seems to have become the new medium but I dislike Facebook groups.
