Wolf's car poem

Wolf asked me to post this for him - he often writes poems about cars, but they're usually haiku.

LSDFORME

Limited to 35 I crawl while in the neighborhood.
Slipping around the corner I see freedom up ahead.
Deferential to my neighbors I keep the engine’s purr low.

Finally! A thin but free road, and I hit it harder than I should.
Open up the throttle, gravity grows, and the revs go in the red.
Roar of the engine, whine of the turbo - both begin to grow.

Master of the curve, I take my girl through all her paces.
Every corner taken hard, tires screaming, the engine races.

This is a very clever piece. The last part is very reminiscent of two people having sex.

Now, as for the first part, are you familiar with the rear axle of a car using a "limited slip differential", or was your use of these words just coincidental?

:D Thank you for the kind words!

I don't really consider myself a writer, so it would never occur to me to try to publish something. I enjoy writing and sharing poems occassionally, but I feel less constrained if I don't have to worry about a critical audience.

Using the first letter of each line to form the title was done on purpose. I'd just had a Peloquin limited slip differential installed in my Jetta when I wrote this, so I was still a bit giddy from the new handling characteristics.

I borrowed your idea - made it mine

ORGASM

Open the throttle
Reach with the power
Grab a quick clutch and shift
Aim through the curve
Silence the mind
Motorcycle, and me.
