Does anyone know when Thomas Harris will release The Lecter Variation ?
Is it even coming out as a book? or only as a script?

As far as i could find it is only a movie script - Harris is not using it for a book, although that doesnt mean he wont of course :)

Thomas Harris is writing the screenplay based upon events that occured in the book Hannibal (it further explains his past and whatnot) I also think he will just add more to his own hearts content about his teenage years

hope that helped

Huh. Never heard of that, oddly enough....
Seeing as Hannibal was one of the biggest literary disappointments of my life, I find it hard to get excited over it though :(

I wish I could get excited about this, but it just seems like they are milking the series now. It started with Red Dragon (an excellent film, and one I did enjoy, but was it really necessary?) and it seems that if the films make money, they are willing to run them into the ground.

I'd rather Harris do something new and fresh, myself.

I watched the movie Hannibal for the first time on TV last week. I wasn't expecting much because the book was a stinker but I ended up enjoying it more than I thought I would.

Sir Anthony still had a presence though he had little to work with and even though Jodie Foster is one of my favorite actresses, I could get lost in Julianne Moore all day. (and night)

Maybe the lapse in time between reading the book and seeing the movie helped some, I don't know. As a rule we all know that books are better than their counterparts but for a change I liked the movie better.

Not to say that it compared with S.O.L. though.
