:) excellent movie! brilliant, who has read "Mrs Dalloway" by Virgina Woolf, how is it? am inspired to read it.
What is your fav part in the movie?

Hello
I saw the film by Stephen Daldry and read the book afterwards. I found the adaptation to be very faithfull to the book and was even more moved by the movie. However, I haven't read "Mrs Dalloway". I was forced to study Woolf in university and since then I've had problems reading her...

I read the book but haven't seen the movie. The book was hard to get into, very Virginia-Smith-esque, going off into intricate detail about minor details (as our minds do in any situation), so that the story wasn't so much... linear. But when I finished, it had invaded my mind, lol, and I thought about it for quite some time.

I haven't seen the movie, but the book was very good so I'd like to. I read Mrs. Dalloway just before reading The Hours, which was the best way to do it. Not much plot, not a lovable set of characters, but still incredibly intriguing. Very short, very quick read, but stays with you awhile.

the movie was great! *thumbs up* but i haven't read the book, though. don't worry, i will soon!

i liked the part when (kidman) was asked why the poet had to die. she said it was so that we would be able to cherish life more. brilliant movie.

I saw the book early summer last year. read the Mrs. Dalloway during my summer holls.

Took a bit of getting into, but once I was there I was hooked.

I loved it!

"A long stream of consciousness..."

Indeed it is!

Well considering my avatar my opinion is not going to be a surprise.

I read the book (which I thought was brilliant) just before I saw the film. I loved it. It was so moving, I thought all three actresses were outstanding. I have seen it a few times since and have still loved it. :)

Just realised....

having just watched the film after reading the book, and realised I missed something massive in the book - I didn't realise that Richard turned out to be Mrs Brown's little boy! Duh......how did I miss that?
