Feeling Blue, Oh what to do?

Ruzi

New Member
I woke up today, and I was happy. Now I'm not, For a million reasons that are really no reason at all, I'm just having a blue day. We all have them every now and then, so what do you do to cheer up? I'm sitting here with a candle burning eating chocolate and listening to oldies. This usually helps, but so does talking to my friends, jogging in the morning, or reading a good book. So, how does everyone else cheer up?

Like you Ruzi, I like to curl up with a good book and a large amount of chocolate! (I find Cadbury's to be the most cheering). Alternatively, I play my Smiths CDs for a while. (The Smiths were a British band notorious for being depressing - wrongly in my opinion). The lyrics nearly always make me smile. If they don't, I just tell myself that at least I'm not as depressed as Morrissey (the singer)! :D

yip, curl up with a 'comfort' book which you have read before and you know will cheer you up, or perhaps a 'comfort' author.

Chocolate and beer are good too. Although you can't really beat complaining to a good friend over the phone.

Failing all of that go to the mirror and pull lion faces - works like a charm. Try it.

Jeez, no one could be as depressed as Morrisey ..... except maybe Ncik Drake .... then again, he topped himself!! :(

Read book or magazine which help me to stop feel down. Sometimes I watched telly when the good programe on. Sometimes I stitched cross stitch which are bit of therapy too. Sometimes I have a nap and woke up to feel bit better. Of course chat to my family or mates to get my chest off.

I like to eat lots of comfort food like chocolate cake or mash potato and listen to some music with of course a really engrossing book.

Jogging or something as mind numbing as the gym helps too, just so I can be lost in my own thoughts.

I love the lion faces idea, made me laugh just thinking about it!

Laugh!

Some of my favorite humor websites:
  • SatireWire - no longer updated, but the archives are very funny. Some material contains harsh language, but most stories do not.
  • The Onion - updated Wednesdays, and the archives are just as hilarious. However, articles contain objectionable content more often than not.
  • Modern Humorist - no longer updated, but the archives are funny. It has slightly less objectionable content than The Onion.
  • BBSpot - updated randomly. This site has tech-related humor, and almost never has objectionable content.
  • ZUG - updated infrequently. Prank-oriented humor can be found here. Some articles are completely free of objectionable content, while others are very objectionable.
  • Jay Leno's Headlines - usually updated right after Monday night's show. Here you can see images of funny news clippings sent in by readers, along with Jay's commentary. It usually has mild objectionable content.
  • Despair - updated infrequently. Despite the title, this site is funny. It features products that parody those motivational posters seen in offices everywhere. No objectionable content.
Does anyone have any favorite humor sites?
